With the end of 2018, I find myself enjoying the holiday season with family, friends, and neighbors this year. It was a year full of highs and lows and yet there are always lessons to be learned!
As a seasoned massage therapist, I have enjoyed working with others in my chosen field. We all have the same goals in mind which are to offer the best mobile chair massage to each client that we work on!
This is how year after year, Massage Kneads is fortunate to have so many returning clients year after year to enjoy receiving chair massages from Maryland’s premier on-site chair massage company, Corporate Massage Kneads.
I continue to learn about clients large and small through both standard and unusual requests for massage. More clients are requesting different opportunities for massage; some monthly, quarterly, or during their annual holiday parties.
These corporate chair massage clients along with home-based massage table client requests keep me active and interested in continuing to exceed expectations throughout the year for each and every client interaction. As you probably already know, chair massage differs from table massage as time is limited, pressure has to be exact to the client’s preference (light, medium or firm), and the environment is serene without too much chatter and talk.
Here are some lessons and reminders learned from 2018:
- Corporate chair massage requests are more mainstream now versus when we started in 2006.
- Clients always know what they “knead” and want during a chair massage. We do our best to honor their wishes along with the signals that we pick up when actually working on them. Sometimes the body tells a different story altogether! We just need to keep asking “What hurts and why?”
- Keeping our hourly pricing modest for on-site chair massage allows for the benefit for many employees versus only those that earn a higher salary
- Mobile chair massage therapists typically prefer and enjoy this bodywork due to the variety of locations and direct contact with various employees within local large and small corporations
- Local therapists that work with Massage Kneads are always keen to go the extra mile for our clients and for that, I am most grateful for that and so many other reasons this past year
- With so many areas of interest in the massage field, we as therapists can easily create or re-create a specialty as the business possibilities are endless
- By focusing more on my business to offer primarily corporate chair massage, my sales cycle is shorter and more profitable
- Many “veteran” clients have used our services for years and have expanded their wellness programs for the following reasons; stress relief and relaxation following a busy season, a thank you in appreciation for a job well done or to promote health and wellness within the office
I am always thrilled with new reviews based on brief yet meaningful interactions with employees following a 15-minute or 30-minute chair massage.
This recent 5-star review was just received late last week as the employee sought an on-site chair massage after a busy week heading into the Christmas break.
Reviews like this one are so appreciated and valued as I head into my 17th year of offering chair massages. Owning my business, Corporate Massage Kneads, has been the most enriching work and The best profession EVER!
