When it comes to a nice bowl of oatmeal in the morning, you may be tempted to add cherries or pears from a jar, which contain that sweet sauce in them. Many of us may be led to think that the sauce is natural sugar from the fruit when in reality it’s added in there to help with the taste. But fear not, it’s still possible to get amazing-tasting foods with fresh fruits. By using a medley of fresh fruits in your bowl of oatmeal, not only will the taste be fresher, but the sugar levels will be lower. Make sure you are still using portioned amounts though, too much of any sugar is not the best for you.
When it comes down to it, you are not going to give up sugars completely. They are in just about everything we consume throughout the day. It is, however, still important to watch what you eat and make sure you don’t go too crazy in one day. So enjoy that slice of cake, but maybe go without the ice cream on the side. The small choices you make will help your body out in the long run.
